Connection
At the heart of WIT is authentic, human connection: spaces where wāhine, gender and ethnic minorities build relationships, share experiences, and support one another. Tech can be isolating; we create an intentional space for belonging.

Our vision is a thriving, connected community where wāhine and gender minorities feel safe, valued, and encouraged to shape the future of tech together.
At the heart of WIT is authentic, human connection: spaces where wāhine, gender and ethnic minorities build relationships, share experiences, and support one another. Tech can be isolating; we create an intentional space for belonging.
We prioritise safe environments where everyone, including non-binary, gender and ethnic minorities, is welcomed, seen, and respected. True inclusion is emotional safety, visibility, and celebration of our differences. You do not have to present in a femme manner to be welcomed.
We champion community and career development, sharing our industry experience, knowledge and networks to help others grow, leading by example and role-modelling a more equitable, inclusive future for tech.
Our kaupapa, vision and values were shaped by the awesome Maria Rose (文妮), with thanks to our contributors Devi, Gisela, Jo & Hyojin.
Gatherings
We exist to foster meaningful connections, uplift one another, and empower the next generation to lead with confidence. Through our events and gatherings, we aim to role model a more collaborative and inclusive future for the Wellington tech sector.
What started as casual gatherings has evolved into a growing, empowering network fostering friendships, career growth, and collective strength.
